Frequenze per il benessere: la bioacustica di Sound Greenfall alla Biennale di Venezia
By Sophie Marie Piccoli
The Swiss-Italian architecture magazine Espazium, published by Hochparterre Verlag and active since 1874, offers rigorous editorial content on building culture, architecture, and the built environment across Italian, German and French linguistic regions.
In the article, Sound Greenfall is presented as an immersive sound-sculptural installation featured at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of Biennale Architettura 2025 at the Arsenale, Venice. Espazium highlights the research behind the installation — neuroscience measurements indicating increased alpha waves and activation of the Default Mode Network in humans, and enhanced growth and stomatal conductance in mint plants.
By recognising the work as a pioneering example of sound as architectural material, the article places Sound Greenfall within the discourse of sensorial-ecological architecture, emphasising its potential to shape space, perception and well-being.
