My Living Room is a Lullaby

Created with Valentina Rizzi for the Simposio di Architettura e di Ecologia delle Relazioni, My Living Room is a Lullaby is a workshop that aims to reflect on the theme of spatial intimacy. As we are constantly subjected to physical and emotional displacements in this globalized world, we want to spark reflection on the importance of finding opportunities to reconnect with one’s domestic and spatial intimacy, and trace pathways to new spatial geographies. In this context, the intimacy of a place also translates into a sense of identity and belonging, which can be conveyed through stimuli that transcend physical boundaries and express themselves through sound, light, landscape, objects, voices, and relationships. By proposing a series of exercises and practices to be executed individually or in groups—such as a sound walk, reproductions of soundscapes, group discussions, drawing, and, finally, the construction of an ephemeral architectural installation—the workshop aims to bring together the rediscovered domestic intimacies and collectively inhabit new narratives.
